So i mean its pretty low, but i dont know about cheating. Was it a true test of skill? Hell no. Is it a test of who is the luckiest? For the most part. Was it smart? Yes.

But oh well. I can live with out a mini-pet.
What happened in ID districts?

I wait there to see if they come back. Then they do all at the same time. Waiting again...

Boom, they all enter at the same time.

I smell spike entering. What is spike entering you ask? Well its when they try to team up and join the same match.

How can this be bad? They have had a prior agreement to let one of them win, and have the others gang up on the other players during that match by box camping and fully disabling them. The other person is riding on into victory, no other players attacking them, no lag spikes, no hassles.

When i caught them around again, i tried to guess when they will try to enter at the same time again. Luckily i got in with them.

Guess what happened? I got ganged by them, and 1 other went on to finish the race.

Is this cheating? yes. Can we do anything about it? Yes, bring it up on the forums so Gaile can read it and pass it along to the devs since they tell us in thier support emails to post on the fansite forums.

Hopefully you'll take those accusations with a grain of salt: I was browsing through the thread and noticed that my name was amongst those being linked with cheating. I don't have any guildmates to spike with even if I wanted to (which I don't). Heck, my list of unlocked heroes is longer than my friends list. It'd be nice if people wouldn't be so quick to point fingers.

I find it kind of BS that, top 100 is based mostly on luck and if you have guildies/friends that can enter with you and make sure no one else can compete, so you can get top 100. But oh well that's humans for you. Not saying everyone did that but..I know some people had to.

I wasn't planning on getting top 100, with my rubberbanding and miserable Super luck.

I know there was some skill involved, but to win it counted on luck and internet connection. Hahahaha.

Well I'm sure that not everyone did it ; but I'm also sure at least some did.

Races were VERY fun but top 100 should be solo time trials, the list would have been VERY diffrent.

I mean i'm not gonna point figures at the whole top 100, but i mean for those that did, which is probably 50% of them. Its just low.

I think I even raced with you a few times Dragou over the weekend.

And solo time trials...i dont know. Granted it proves whose the fastest. It also proves who played the most over the weekend. The range in top 100 scores would have went from 10k to about 1k. So I'm not sure if that would have accomplished anything.

If they wanted to make it truly skill. Take out ID districts and make the ladder based on number of consectutive wins. That way it shows you have some skill.

QFT. It would be pretty hard to sync consec wins with friends, seeing how when you win, they bring you straight to the next one! Unfortunately, I'm sure 100 people will reach like 300-600 wins in a row, making it the option of spending all day playing or losing. Then again, if the options are cheating or spending all day to earn the prize, I'd choose spending all day.

Yeah I submitted a support ticket about the fact that the top 100 TIMES and not top 100 RACERS as the prize giver says. So many duplicate entries and Im sitting at like 105th place. I never synced either, infact I know I had a couple mid range 470s cooking untill people knocked me down in the bridge area repititiously

No one won multiple pets. Only one beetle per account was awarded. In fact, there's word that Anet may be altering the top 100 so that it shows the highest per-account scores. That would help clear up a lot of this confusion (and help more people get beetles).

Just generally speaking, it'd be great if this fun event didn't turn sour. Absolutely somebody might have found a way to gain a competitive edge, but there's no reason to believe that any individual in the top 100 cheated. As a lot of people have pointed out, there's a much greater degree of luck involved in this game then in previous special event arenas. I'm much more inclined to say that top 100 scorers were lucky than I am to say they were cheaters.

OK - now I'm officially pissed off.

I spent the whole day Saturday exploring and finding all the chef ingredients for myself in order to recieve a special reward only to find out my reward was a worthless pig which everyone got by afk'ing.

I now find out that rollerbeetle racing gives mini-pets which are truly rare.

If I had known I would have focused on racing instead of running around the place finding crap for Chefs.

Congrats to the racers who got one but I can't help feeling that I was duped by Anet this weekend.

PVE got screwed...... again

I like this solution.

Time trials for top 100 and minipet, normal competition for skillz points.

I just think it sucks because those little beetles are my absolute favorite monster EVER!! After maybe 1 week of nightfall I told my bf how much i adored them, and then i mentioned the idea of how happy i would be if they ever made it into a birthday mini.

But no. they have to give it to the top 100 racers =( Cheapest I have saw is 100k+400e and the most expensive was 100k+800e....

I personally think they should have done something a little different. And maybe gave the greased lighting styled mini to the top 100 players and then gave a plain colored mini to people who earned so many consecutive wins, or people who just won 1st place so many times overall. Or even better, gave a plain colored one to those districts that pleased the piggie - because My guildies and I farmed for all that crap and got nothing more then another mini-pig.

I thought Dragou did pretty well in the Rollerbeetle arena. He was also very skilled while playing with him in the dragon arena. He deserves the credit that he played for.

Though, now I know that the top 100 didn't get multiple pets, im relieved.
